60 Anniversary Year Book ---anyone else got one of these most excellent "tomes" from the Official Mercedes-Benz Owners club yet? It was a very pleasant surprise to be in receipt of one yesterday.:thumb:

Received Mine on Thursday
Great Book :thumb:

Collected mine at the MB World launch but still received a second one in the post more recently.

Got mine through the post a while ago but sadly the spine got damaged in transit. Nicely produced I feel.

Yup. Got mine too. Lovely. No sign of a 124 in my quick skip through it though.

Nope. No W124s that I could see. IMHO could have done with less Lifestyle and more photos of Mercedes.

Excellent production though, must have cost a few bob.

The life style stuff funded it to the point that the club made a small profit.

Got mine quite a while back. A nice addition to the collection on the coffee table :)

"Lifestyle stuff" - advertising you mean !

What a waste of good resource.

We only needed the 2 first chapters for those new to the marque.

Those that have been around Mercs for some time will know most
of the content of the first two chapters anyway, as it's all been previously printed in the Merc club mags and others like Merc Enthusiast, over the years.

My 220 is on page 60, although the photo was taken in 2006 and is listed under a previous owner.

Goes to look at page 60.

Edit.

Very nice. Hows it running. Page 60 of the 60 Anni Year Book something spooky there?

Thanks, it's running very well and is very reliable. It needs a bit of bodywork done to it this winter as a few rust bubbles have appeared in the paint though. I didn't like all the adornments on it, so have removed the spotlights, white banded tyres and mudflaps. I also put a white rimmed steering wheel on it which really sets the interior off. Sadly though, it sits in the garage most of the time and gets very little use.
I noticed the 60/60 too, makes it easy to remember the page anyway and it's a nice bit of automobilia to go with the car.

Gotta agree. Second half the book is solid ads or advertorials.

shame about all the adverts which take up half the book, but i guess they need to do that in order to pay for production of it. Good otherwise. Maybe it would of been better to only include car-related advertising which would make it less of a problem as i dont mind browsing adverts for classic cars, tools, workshop info etc.

Don't mind the adverts - you don't have to read them.
It's a bit of an odd format though. Very wide book. When I'm reading it in bed, the cover keeps digging Mrs P in the ribs.

I am pictured in it with my old W140 V12... :D
