Just gathering ideas as not been on holiday yet this year which is grating a bit...

To give you an idea of what we like we have been the following over last couple of years:

La Palma (4 times)
Barbados
Mexico
Cuba
Belgium
Cornwall (still a holiday)

Basically I'm only looking for a cheap 7-10 holiday. Usually go all inclusive but I'm thinking of going B and B this time to experience some proper food as we are going cheap.

I've been thinking:

Santorini
Portugal
Italy

Dunno what else to look at? Budget I would say is circa £1k for the two of us then spending money on top.

Any ideas you well travelled people?

I got a painful foot injury last time I went abroad.

That's the last time I visit Krakatoa.

'Quiet' side of Ibiza
Centerparcs, maybe the one in Holland not necessarily the UK parks
South of France

In my 31 years on this planet aside from Amsterdam and some wet place in Wales on a school trip, I'm afraid that's as far as my 'travels' have taken me, lol

Oh and if you didn't know, I run a very competitive 'car sitting' service for those on holiday ;)

Hahahaha if it's Italy the car may be coming with us :D

Never knew centre parcs had sites abroad but I'm more a hotel kind of person :)

Italy's always a favourite around these parts, hardly cheap though.

Weather in May should be nice, warm but not too hot. Last time we went was for 10-11 days, flew to Venice and had a couple of days there, then picked up a car and went to Lake Garda for a week or so, then up into the mountains to Cortina d'Ampezzo for a couple of days then back to Venice and fly home. Nothing not to like.

It was a bit over budget, c. £1500 IIRC, but we didn't skimp (I do like my comfort) OK the hire car was Fiat 500 but I like them too!

If you want any details let me know ;)

Cheers,

Gaz

We just thought about exactly the same and just booked 10 days Cyprus can't wait.

Seville and/or Granada, only 2 hours apart by car.

May the weather will be perfect.

Southern Spain, away from the coast, can be fantastic. Seville is a great city to visit and the Spring Fair (mid-April this year) is a fantastic 5-day party :thumb:

Antalya region of Turkey (Kemer / Side) is nice.

Barut Hotel chain is excellent and the all-inclusive is great. Private beaches.

Was in the Barut Kemer last year and will be in the Barut Side this summer.

I think that's where they started mate, least that's what my dad told me. We went every year as kids, I bloody loved it

They have hotels on site, cabins, chalets, tree houses the lot!

I have found northern Spain to be good value for eating/drinking.

St Sebastian is a particular favourite.

By sheer co-incidence, we're off to Milan, Monza and Como in a couple of days. We go pretty much every year and love it. Really recommend!!

Not at the moment surely? There's better places to die.

We are banned from travel to Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia and they don't impose bans lightly.

We are still free to travel to Iraq, Iran and Ukraine though :-)

I think Turkey is out. Though its bleeding cheap online!!!

I'm leaning towards taking 14 days off and driving to Italy :)

Only place I've been out of the UK was the Dominican republic, all inclusive resort in Bayahibe, I have nothing to compare it to, but it was amazing.
