I did a scan of my gearbox and it's came up with 2 fault codes
P2312 can, communication with engine system, fault or engine temperature is implausible/intermittent
2312 no can message was received from engine control unit

Does anyone know if this could be oil in the gearbox connector?

Yes, that certainly could be.
It's not anything mechanical like ratio monitoring or transmission slip, but communication over CAN bus which would be either oil on the connector affecting the data, or maybe power to the gearbox electronics.

CAN bus errors like that can be fairly common, just minor glitches sometimes. You can check over the transmission connector plug for leaks, but I wouldn't be massively concerned right now unless it starts causing physical symptoms.

Did you clear the codes and see if they reappeared. They may be historical

I've cleared the codes so will use it for a week and see if it comes back, car seems to drive normal, it's going in for a gearbox flush with the new type mobil oil next week anyways so will get them to change the connector anyways, does anyone have any experience with the new 236.14 spec oil?

I have used Titan 4134 236.14 and all is good. Got it from jabspares on ebay at £28.00 for 4l. He is based in Northampton
