I would be really grateful for your help. I have an W221 S320cdi OM642 engine with the 7g gearbox, 2008 registered with 79k miles. I have always had a harsh downshift particularly from 3-2 and 2-1. Also when accelerating harder or going uphill the gearchange from 1-2 and 2-3 there is a 'pushing'/jerky type of effect when it changes gear, not smooth at all. The issues seems to be slowly getting worse.
I am pleased with the car otherwise but the gearbox spoils it. I have driven cars with the 7g+ gearbox which do not have this issue
There are no error codes. Thus far the ATF has been changed multiple times, re-adapted x3 (twice by a reputable indy and once by MB dealer). Software I am told is fully up to date when checked a few months ago
Reading up on this there are many posts on the issue, some suggest valve body replacements others suggest new gearbox or torque converter
I am keen to get this sorted.
