98 CLK Auto Down Front Windows Prob :S

Hi all, have had something very odd with my front windows on the clk.
They used to roll down auto when the window button was fully pressed down, like normal.

But the battery was disconected at the weekend for a few moments and
now they do not roll down on on auto, you have to hold the button down

the rear ones work fine all seems odd to me, any ideas people ? :S

Go all the way down and all the way up a couple of times.
Should be 1 touch down after a few goes.

thanks ill try that when i get in, and the thing is, now you have said to do something like that, i bet its going to work too!!

If they're like the C Class, then the windows will need resetting after the battery has been removed.

Press the switch 'Down' and when the window reaches the bottom continue to hold the switch for a count of five. Repeat in the 'Up' direction. This should do the trick.

As the battery has been removed there is also the possibility that the steering angle sensor will need resetting as well. Next time it's parked with the engine running just turn the steering from lock to lock a few times and that's all there is to it.
