Probably a tad difficult getting a 5L V8 into a W124, hence why if memory serves me correctly Mercedes sent the W124 to Porsche to create the E500.

Do like the command install on this car though, never seen a W124 with OEM Mercedes Command.

Do like the command install on this car though, never seen a W124 with OEM Mercedes Command.

problem is, with the way its fitted it needs to be "dug" into the side of the trim where the ashtray goes, so would look naff up close. i considered this option and decided not to.

I fitted a double-din "comand style" unit in mine - this is a few mm shorter than COMAND as i didnt put the side trim on it and it fits a lot better, plus is more modern with up-to-date 3D satnav, bluetooth, dvd, digital tv etc etc.
