I get the use of a company van during the week and only really use the car at the weekends, so l leave the car at work where l thought it would be safe. So, can l just take this opportunity to thank the nice people who thought my car would look better without the wheels last night. You haven't really ruined my weekend, l really dont mind paying another £400+ for 4 new Goodyears not to mention the immaculate wheels l got of ebay a year or so back. My manager would also like to thank you for removing the 3 legged metal table out the skip.
I would also like to thank Lothian and Borders, who despite being phoned at 7.45 am to report the crime, never bothered to turn up. A phone call at 6.30pm to find out why revealed all.....'with no witnesses and no CCTV images, it would be a waste of time sending anyone out' .
The fact that a manhole cover was stolen onsite last week and the young mechanic in the building next to us, also reported a theft (number plates) on Tuesday, apparantly there was no connection.
So Mr Pikey, l hope you are happy with the £5 a rim you are likely to get from the scrappies and trust me, if we ever cross paths, l hope you have your running shoes on, because trust me, you'll need them.[/ATTACH]

Sorry to hear about this.

Did your pride and joy have locking wheel bolts?

The need to fit locking wheel nuts is a sad indicator of the gutter-level of pondlife that pollutes our society.

The majority are one generation from being zombies.

The law, and those that are paid handsomely to police it, is an ass.

I'm very sorry to read about this. Total scum:mad:

One thing I will say though, you are lucky(if that's the right word)they didn't have it away with the whole car as theft of W124's is on the increase once again. One of our members over on the 190 forum had his 300D stolen from outside his unit a few nights ago. He caught it all on CCTV. They simply rolled up in a transit, hooked the car up and drove off with it.
It will now be in part form and in a container on it's way to Africa or eastern europe.

Must have been gutted to drive round and see your pride like that.

Any damage done to the car?

I have two different locks on each wheel but the fact is if they want the wheels they will have them and looking at where it was parked they probably have a bit of time to phaff around anyway.

I have my old 16" alloys off my E class (S211) and you could borrow them until you get sorted but just noticed your a little be away from me :( and I don't know if they would fit to be honest.

Hope you get it sorted.

On the positive side, you do have some new axle stands or were these taken from the mechanic?

In the classifieds I think I posted some alloys for the W124 on behalf of my mate. Im not sure if they are to your liking, all original and he probably would lower the price. They could be your winter wheels and then when spring arrives get some nice 17s or 18s. Oh and some locking wheel bolts.

Sorry to hear this, it happened to me a few years back. Any chance of finger prints on the axle stands? Might be worth taking them down the nick to get them dusted.

The police made it quite clear they weren't interested. There's about 16 units on our estate and with this being the third incident in a week, l took it upon myself to warn everyone not to leave anything metallic unsecured overnight, otherwise it might vanish into thin air or on to the back of some pikeys Transit van.
There's CCTV cameras everywhere, but l managed to pick the only blind spot to park the car:doh:

Good suggestion EDZ649, their fingerprints may already be on the system :bannana:

Really sorry to see this. Hope the car itself is OK?

As others have already said, really sorry to read this. Sometimes it makes it easier just typing it up and posting it for all to see.

The sad thing is, they will be back in the area soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

Know how you feel, see below how my 124 ended its life.
Mercland.com have several sets of wheels tha may appeal and fit.

In true 124 style, the NSR backing plate is slightly bent and a slight dent from where the axle stand was placed, but thats under the drivers seat and won't be seen from inside.
Long live the 124's

Total scum. Got some steels here you can have if you get to Lancashire. They are off a saloon and no rubber. But yours if you want them.

l was heartbroken when l saw mines, but l reckon l would've been in tears if l came back to this.

Can l just thank everyone for their help and support, but l managed to get some wheels. Not perfect, but they'll do until my AMG's pop up on ebay :).
Nice to know the help from the forum is there when you need it most:thumb:

Bad luck Sean. Nip across to SportsCarBreakers and ask for Norrie. He has a couple of Mercs and always has extra stuff kicking about.
