Hello! My C from 1997 as a A/C automatic. The problem mis that sometimes I have to press with a finger on the edge so I can see the numbers. As a solution?

Once LCD displays do that, there is seldom a cure other that to replace it,, they should be around from breakers now

I thought it was said on here before that if this happens, you need to open it up and ensure the ribbon cable is properly inserted?

(Similar to the advice with missing segments in the instrument cluster displays i.e. pack the rear of the connector with something to ensure a good connection is made).

I'm having similar problems with the climate control on my 202.
Was planning on opening it up and checking the connections, but do you think it's not repairable?

Not on these little displays open it up by all means, but I have my doubts . They are like calculators when they read gobble de gouch or ony work if the screen is touched,,I have never found a way

With mine, some of the segments fade and/or disappear. A gentle touch of the screen brings the display back to normal will full legibility which makes me think (hopefully, fingers crossed) it's just a connection issue.

I will confirm when I finally get round to opening it up.

You could try some foam packing from behind to put more pressure on the characters

Do you mean behind the screen itself or the connector? (Haven't actaully opened it up yet so not overly sure what it looks like inside)
