A Class - Just starting to think...

Hi all

We might be needing a second car and need something pretty cheap! Found a few A classes from between 2000-2003 for under £1000. Any pointers!?

We currently have a2003 c 220 estate

For that budget buy a fiesta. Period.

W168 A-Class under a grand - look out for gearbox problems. Also starter problems too as that would be expensive to change due to having to drop the engine.

I know there are still many W168 A Classes running around,but difficult to recommend as there are lots of known issues. By common consent the W169 successor (2004 onwards) is a much more reliable car.
