Hi folks,

Friend has a A-Class (A140, 51 Plate) which appears to have developed a fault with the MAF. Cold start was leading to rough idle (unstable).

Indie advised this was linked to ECU and had to be sent away, went through the process of sending it away and then was told it could not be repaired. It has been left disconnected and car runs okay(ish), consumes more petrol than usual. :wallbash:

Now a new one is expensive, so given the age of the car is there a more economical way of getting a repair?

Thanks in advance.:thumb:

There is a company that will rebuild the MAF ECU. I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head, but when Howard comes on he'll be able to tell you if no one else does.

Costs around the £200-£250 mark i believe.

ecutesting.com about £140 as mentioned in my thread above

I'd be very surprised if it can't be repaired.
