Car
w210 e200 estate
I have a light on the dash and unsure what it means. The car is a 1998 e200. The light is on the left hand side under bas/asr light. Looks like a steering wheel with a wavy line underneath. Also low coolant light is on but coolant full. Is the sensor the llittle tube at top of radiator bottle? And finally what wheels have brake sensors on please? Wear sensor keeps flickering even though brakes are fine,no squeaking or grinding and pads look ok. Thanks.

Any one know? Or have I posted in wrong section?

You may want to split your questions into separate threads and post into the relevant sections. Looks like you have categories to post each in 1. Electronics 2. Wheels, Tyres, Brakes & Suspension 3. Engine As for you coolant problem check both the washer bottle level sensor & coolant level sensor, if I recall correctly they are wired in series.

Brake sensors front wheels only, there are 3 round symbols,2 yellow lamp warnings,ABS malfunction,Brake pads worn,1 Red lamp,Brake fluid low,all in the users manual BTW.

As mentioned windscreen washer level and coolant level sensors wired in series so aproblem with either or both will cause the light to go on.

BRAKES/ABS/ESR etc all linked together so cure of one area means the lights will go out in others. If brake wear sensors are not renewed at the same time as brake pads then you may get false readings- so check them.
One of the first things to check on the ABS/ESR system is the brake pedal switch. Cheap to replace it must function correctly to stop warning lights coming on.These electronic systems all need the correct supply voltage to function correctly so check your battery is in good condition and putting up a good supply. Next port of call would probably be the wheel speed sensors front and back to check they are functioning correctly and clean/free from damage. Thereafter you are into the much more expensive territory of electronic electro-hydraulic units. I suggest you get the car hooked up to a diagnostic unit to see what fault codes are coming up.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry about not splitting it up. Abs/bas lights and low brake fluid don't come on,only when ignition on. Would have checked the owners handbook but I didn't get one with the car. I actually meant the light underneath the Abs/bas light. No one ispoke to has seen it before

Thank you but I already have that downloaded. It doesn't show the light on my dash. Mine is the pre facelift model. I also haven't got a check engine light.

Could be parking brake on warning light if its below the ABS symbol

That is same layout as mine bar the lights on the left. Mine has srs in red, then Abs/bas in amber,Abs in amber then the pic of a steering wheel with a wavy line under it. Can't upload a photo as I am using my phone

Only other thing I can think of is an ESR defeat warning if you have a switch to manually switch it off when using snow chains for example?

Is there any chance I can email you a photo? If I turn asr off at the switch then the yellow triangle comes up

Why not post a picture on the forum. Use the attachments button below the post box - just compress the picture first. There is a warning light that contains a steering wheel symbol that refers to the steering column electrical adjustment. You don't hav eone of those do you?

Can't upload as don't own a computer, only my phone. Yes I have got electric wheel adjustment on mine
