Hey guys,
For years now I have been a fan of Carpro Pearl as my chosen Tyre dressing.
Well Now Garage Therapy have released a new formula, this isn't your typical dressing, its actually a rubber feed/nourishing serum.

I had a set of wheels to coat for a customer, so used this New Serum on his tyres

In order to get a good a dressing of any kind on tyres it's really important to remove any old dressing residue, and oils from the tyre.

These were cleaned with garage therapy Decon shampoo 1/10 in a trigger spray bottle. Hit them twice to make sure you have them clean, or use a Citrus APC/ Rubber cleaner. Then a final wipe down with IPA.

Apply one coat evenly with an applicator, level the product off with an MF application pad or cloth.after approx 15mins, you'll see a slight patchy finish, this is where the tye is starting to absorb the product.

After about an hour the product as almost levelled itself, leaving uniform finish.

Now for increased durability and a more deep satin look, apply a 2and layer, leave for 5mins then buff off any residue.

After 15mins its fully cured, non greasy or sticky, and the finish left makes the tyre look factory fresh.

For further maintaining the tyre simply wash with a soft brush and shampoo, then top up as required. Durability is yet to be established, but from other reviews I've seen it should outlast most.

Whilst I am a tyre-dressing junkie........................I am going to have to surf the internet for one of those stands vs make one (even thinking of making it at an angle). Why did you show it :wallbash:

Lol sorry buddy

This is a Polka wheel stand, they are £108.00
They have 2 horizontally adjustable rollers, and 1 vertical roller to support the tyre.

There are cheaper alternatives for around £50
But they don't have any vertical support

1 Thanks for OEM.

2 This is the bit that most people will not appreciate.

Finally, let us know over longevity. I cover 500ish miles/week and the majority of tyre dressings do not last.

Will do buddy, no probs

Very interesting. Why don't you use Tuf Shine?
Tuf shine brush?
I don't actually like the brush buddy, the bristle are too aggressive for my liking and can cause damage to sensitive wheel finishes if your not careful, I use a shoe polish brush as they are tapered edges and easier to work with.

Also another update on the product.
I've been applying this to all my cars, and my work van, uts covered 1200miles since application, been washed 4 times with shampoo and they still look like new tyres.

+1 for Garage Therapy Serum, i have been using it a few months now and it gives the tyre a lovely finish as well as being quite durable as long as it is applied as Lee has described.

For those (like me) that are used to applying APC, letting it sit and scrubbing tyres there doesn't seem any need, what i have started doing is just cleaning the tyres with a soft brush when i have applied snow foam for the pre-wash which seems to be enough.

You don't need much as it's quite runny so it spreads well which is a pleasant change for all the Meguiars fans out there with greasy hands after application, it's almost like a moisturiser for tyres and has that sort of moisturising smell to it too.

I am not very attentive to my mileage as i don't cover very many these days (maybe 300-400 a week) but i would say i have been getting about four weeks before needing to apply again and what i have been doing is once the car is washed and dried, i apply it to the tyre while i give the interior a quick vacuum then just give the tyre a wipe over before packing up.

Am I missing something?

Tyres contact the road, they get dirty.............................................. hmmmmm ;)

IMHO, an otherwise clean car, with tyres that haven’t been cleaned/dressed is like you getting all dressed up, but wearing filthy shoes.
Once seen, can’t be unseen!

Exactly that 👏 💯
This is a "detailing Forum"

No, I meant the kit. The brush and solution clean the tyre wall and the applicator and finish provide the protection for up to four months.

I've not tried it buddy, I didn't actually know they made a dressing. Sounds good if you can get 4mnths out of it

Our cars are machines to get us around, perform tasks etc, they are cleaned when dirty and I will not have a dirty or untidy interior in my car but obsessing over clean tyres is not something that features on my radar.

I know a lot of people get enjoyment from hours of cleaning and admiring the results of their labours and I can fully appreciate that but we live in the country, have to use lanes etc that are invariably muddy or dusty and also drive on and off fields, at times with a horse so keeping clean tyres is not going to happen, but each to their own :)

Mmm. I had a new 5 litre pack of tyre dressing delivered today and was surprised (an initially dissapointed) to find it was a very thin white milky substance and nothing like the thick clear sticky stuff I have used for ever. Any way tried it out only washing the wheels first. Brushed it on white and watery and thought "well I wont buy that again". Half an hour or so later most of the white drops had dissapeared and the tyres were a nice matt satin black , not all shiney like the other stuff. An hour later all the white drops had gone and the tyres looked great. Once fully dried you can touch the rubber without coming away with sticky black hands. No idea on longevty yet but I really like the finish as opposed to the over shiny dodgy dealers forecourt look.
