Happened upon this beauty yesterday. Can't imagine they made that many if it's original. Thought I'd share after making it as anon as possible.

This looks similar to something that came on wheeler dealers quite recently in the new series. Same colour i believe.

Eeeeuuuugggghhhh! That looks awful!

Spoilt by a spoiler, AMG badge and too-large wheels with too thin rubber.

Not to my liking at all.

.

Front and rear spoilers appear to be correct period R107 AMG options.
Lowered suspension also appears to be AMG.
Wheels possibly correct depending on year of car.
AMG typically colour matched the grille surround to the body.
The "Euro" AMG 500SL's are very popular in the USA as they were never available.
Most had body kits and chassis mods but few had performance mods.

using my superman vision, it has an AMG steering wheel too.. so it could be just a AMG kit or it could have an AMG engine.. most likely just the kit.

I like it too !

I recon it looks good. I believe Talbir has a genuine AMG SL with the same kit.

Photos taken in Royal Terrace, Edinburgh. Seen it before - not my taste, but appears to be in good order and, for all I know , the genuine article.

Not one of AMGs finest moments, but then I don't really like any of their stuff from this period.

It looks good IMO but R107's were perfect as they were (post facelift)... hence mine is completely original..

.. mine is completely original..

And your original SL looks so much better.

The AMG kit looks like the stuff that Halfords were selling in the 70's.

In my opinion, the original was perfect.

Very nice. I think one of the nicest of that shape will have to be the one that Samuel Jackson was driving in the film Jackie Brown. All black, and stunning.
