Help! I woke up with the notion that I was now bored with R2 as I'd done all I wanted to do to it and that I should sell it and buy a W204 maybe a Bluemotion and save the planet.

All comments and suggestions welcome.

Keep the car, and ban cows - they produce more Methane/co2/etc. Eat steak happy and in comfort.

As much as I think the W204 is a nice looking car (specially the sport version). I still prefer the W203 (with the sport pack). But its a close call.
I think the dash in the facelift W203 is nicer than the W204, although the position of the COMAND unit in the W204 is ergonomically better.
My W203 (see avatar) is probably only worth circa £10K - maybe somewhat less.
To replace it with a new W204 (to the same specification) would be £35Kish -probably more.
The difference is certainly not worth £25K. Specially as R2 is a stunner and probably turns more heads than a run-of-the-mill W204.
The only extra that I would want on R2 would be a sunroof.
Keep it ! ! ! ! !

If you get a killer deal you'd be mad to pass up, then change.

If not stay put as the killer deal may not be far away.

The W204 C250 CDI BlueEfficiency Prime Edition (what?!!!) already on sale in Germany is a pretty impressive bit of kit as regards its mix of performance (pretty much the equal of the C320CDI) and fuel economy. Trouble is, it'll take a v-e-r-y - - - l-o-n-g time for it to make financial sense.

Let your heart rule your head ;) :D

W204! Back to the straight lines, none of that W203 curvey/girly business :D :D :D

Yeah, 204, much much better car and all that moding to do!

8/16 in favour of keeping. Hmmm

Keep it Greg, you love that car. The modding has to stop at some point. Now enjoy it ;)

If you are bored then its just a matter of time

I had an E270 cdi from new for 6 years, and was a bit bored. I changed for the E55 cos it was newer, had lower mileage, was now affordable to me, and was a new project to have fun in. Enthusiasm in my day to day car has been reignited beyond belief. The 66 Mustang is taking a bit of a back seat :o

I think if you love cars, and are passionate about the whole ownership experience, then you need to face up to the fact that change is inevitable. Its just a question of when.

If you can justify the move financially (and I don't just mean can you afford it - but accept the trade-off between cost and enjoyment) then I say go for it. :D If you can't justify it, then stay put.

Marc

R2 has been one of the fundamental reasons that I started to mod my car... the W203 Modders Club would not be the same without it!

You need some BEM (Birds Eye Maple) in there, and dispense with the alu-bling.

It will set off your steering wheel / Comand / gear knob a treat...

Whistles across to Ossie and White Nem for assistance here.

:)

I've just driven a W204 C180 k Sport which was almost identical to my spec......not sure how I feel. Confused I think.

Bad boy Greg. I can see a R2 W204 on the Horizon ;)
