Alternatively.... A W204 will see one of Greg's auctions...

maybe a Bluemotion and save the planet.

Buying another new car will not save the planet as many resources will have been used in its manufacture. You will have to keep it for many years & drive it thousands of miles for the small difference in performance to offset the manufacturing process.
(Just saying not to use this as a reason:))

Main argument is how bored are you with R2 versus how happy will a new W204 make you?
Oh, and the small matter of cost..

I spent this afternoon giving R2 the big spring clean.......makes it harder to contemplate selling when it looks this good! Photos added to gallery.

After all that effort of cleaning R2 you owe it to yourself to keep her a bit longer. 204 prices are still relatively high and I'd advise if you were wanting/needing to change imminently that a better change would be to a 211, not a 204.

Don't get me wrong, the 204 is a lovely car, but not as good value as a 211 at the moment. R2's value won't drop as much relatively, and absolutely, in 12 months than a new(ish) 204. I'd hold on another 6-12months when 204's are a bit cheaper and the cost of change a bit lower.

15/35. The keeps have it!

I have driven the Audi A4, the Alfa 159 and the W204. The W204 felt the most solid and had the best ride. So out of my possible rivals the W204 sport is the only contender. The W204 is better built than the W203 and has a better ride and good levels of kit and at some point it will doubtless be my next car BUT it is not £14,000 better than my current W203 and therefore R2 stays for the time being. Thank you all for your input in this process!

Greg , any reason for not selling R2 and adding the extra money into buying a more powerful w203 ( 32 or 55 ) rather than a small engined w204 ?

Maybe you should try for a part ex at your MB dealer, this will maybe make your mind up.

The amount that they offer might be low enough to help you decide to keep it. You've done some great mods but they will make no difference to the P/Ex value.

Hmm. You are dead right. What do people think my car is worth?
