On my 2003 CLK Coupé I fitted a reverse camera in the plastic surround next to the number plate light. As I'm going through a stereo replacement in my 20098 cabriolet I thought I'd do the same thing. Had a bit of time this afternoon so I ran the cables through the rubbers into the bottled and thought I would just pop the trim off and fit the camera in the garage tonight. It seems to be different to the coupé though. There is no bold behind the numberplate to remove and although the panel looks the same I fear it is actually just a steel boot lid. Perhaps I can remove the trim around the numberplate lights and handle but I'm struggling to see how is is attached. Can anyone shed any light on this please? Have you done a boot handle replacement or similar that would help describe how I get it out and see if it's feasible to fit my camera?
