Hi everyone,
So I've recently been hearing a rattle only on cold start up, it does sound like the chain if I'm honest. Checked codes and initially had P001685 Inlet camshaft timing control value/signal outside max range.
Since that has gone and now I'm got 2 faults stored for each camshaft sensor. (Component faulty faults)
I'm just curious before I start ripping it to bits and checking the chain if there's anything common on this engine? I've heard this engine doesn't suffer with the cam adjusters failing?
Am I looking at just a stretched chain fault?
13 plate - 70k miles - M270 - W176
