Hi

I know the proper way is to get MB or someone else to do it with Star and rodeo it etc but does anyone know if sticking the return through the filter into a container and then keep topping up the resevoir whilst raising and lowering the suspension would flush the system through... also does anyone know how much oil is in there??

Mine is working fine but the seal around the top of the filter in the resevoir has been trapped by someone before I got it, this caused a bit of a weep, just wanted to make sure the oil was the best it could be....

Or should I just leave it alone and keep my fingers crossed!!!??:dk:

Thanks

You could do it that way, it basically does the same job.. but be very careful not to let the container run out... you get air in the system then it will need a rodeo..

Im not sure the total capacity but last time we did a major job on one of these I remember it guzzling at least 5 litres of the stuff...

Unless you believe there has been foreign matter getting into the reservoir, I'm not sure what difference the seal will have made.

As for flushing, I think it is a good idea. Just add a flushing agent to the hydraulic oil, drive the car for 2,000 miles then change the oil and lower rand raise the car while catching the return to get fresh oil into the system.

One of my cars has a splash of diesel in the hydraulic oil at present.

Thanks for the info chaps... I'll get mucky with it soon!!!
