ABC issue costing £9000+

Nah, you can get 4 shocks for 1k from China….which probably makes shocks for all known replacement parts company, tandem pump is around 350£, valve blocks repair kit 50£ each…..to convert not worth it in my eyes

Is there an option to just replace with passive damper set up. I appreciate you lose the magic carpet ride but you would forgo all these ABC worries.
Yes, there are several manufacturers. About £1k for the kit.

£1200 for a quality set of coilovers - BC Racing or alike - its doesnt stop there though if you want to do it properly...

You'll also need a pair of ARBs (Anti roll bars) some fit the 350 parts but there are others out there made for the conversion
Then to fit the ARBs you'll need to drop both front and rear subframe and remove ABC pipes in the way
Drop link kit needed for the ARBs
New engine mounts as they would have aged well plus spacers to give more room for the front ARB kit so it doesnt touch other components
A new single use power steering pump (ML) and reservoir as the 55 uses a TAndem pump for power steering and ABC...

so.... its not a "cheap" conversion and just 1k will NOT do it!
