ABS & ASR sensor, optical or not

Hi all,

Does anyone knows how the ABS & ASR sensor works? Is it an optical or magnetical sensor?
I suspect that's optical. And, in that case, is it logical to think that, after a while, it might need to be cleaned?

If you mean the wheel speed sensors......

Nope, magnetic.
Optical would be a disaster! It would need to be cleaned....

It's a magnetic (or electromagnetic) sensor that senses the steel teeth on the rotating abs ring.

They are just a passive coil which generates a small AC voltage due to the magnetic flux of the reluctor ring teeth.
