ABS Light on '93 W201

I have just acquired a 1993 190 2.0 Auto and it has the ABS light lit up.

Does anyone know what the most probable cause of it is? My mechanic mate reckons it is likely a wheel speed sensor. Are there any other suggestions?

probably a sensor but it could also be the abs unit or the abs control unit

Is swapping out the ABS control box a complicated job?
