Activating Mercedes App

Hi Guys I’ve recently bought my 2018 250 GLC. so everything is a learning curve. I’ve downloaded the Mercedes app. But it says “ This vehicle has already been defined for another user “ if you are the keeper or owner of this vehicle please contact your authorised dealer in order to define this vehicle. Has anyone else had this experience? If so please advise. Regards Dave

I’ve had exactly this experience this week. I assume the last owner/keeper hasn’t deleted the cars profile from their MM App. (I deleted my old car the same day it was collected).

I guess a main dealer will have to intervene to reset the system.

Thanks for your reply. I actually know the last owner. So I will get hold of him and hopefully he can erase his information. I’ll keep you posted. Regards Dave

Thanks Dave. Unfortunately I bought from a dealer so unlikely they’ll give me previous owners details. They may however, pass on a message.

Main dealer can reset the app for you - or I called up Mercedes customer support and they did it for me. Not that it was much use to me as my car has no digital extras.

You'll need to go to a main dealer, take your V5 and some photo ID/proof of address and they'll re-register to you. You can't do it over the phone (although that was an option during the pandemic).
