Hi all just bought another car last week when I checked to see how much adblue was there it showed nothing so phone my local indi and told me to come round he put some adblue in but it didn’t register any level he told me to leave it a day or so and if it’s still the same to book it in but i was just wondering if the last owner deleted it and would that stop it measuring the system and is there anyway to tell if it has been deleted

A few ign cycles or a 15 minute drive will usually give a range on screen. When it's deleted they normally unplug the ad blue ECU .

Either way make sure you get to the bottom of this.

If the AdBlue level sensor is faulty, the repair can be very expensive.

Also, did you buy the car from a trader, or in a private sale?

Does the nox sensor have anything to do with the adblue

Hi forgot to say there are no warning lights or messages on the dash

Lots , they'll be mapped out also likely.
When i got the car there was some outstanding recalls that the last owner hadn’t done it was for some update and to check the nox sensor if went in to Mercedes on Thursday and apparently they fitted two new nox sensors they wanted me to keep it there to the next day to do the updates but there was something wrong with there 5 star so it’s booked back in for next Tuesday to get that done

When replacing the NOx sensors, a software update is recommended, otherwise the car may flag up a fault code for faulty NOx sensora. The software update is done using Mercedes Benz STAR diagnostic computer. And yes, the NOx sensors are related to the AdBlue system. There's another software update unofficially called 'Dieselgate' which will bring your car's emissions to within the original manufacturer's specification.

Hi but if the adblue has not been deleted and there is a problem with the adblue system wouldn’t any problem show up on the dash

You'd probably get an eml after a while , same fault codes after while puts it on.
