Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to detailing. I've had a read through some of the thread content and the variety of methods/products is almost bewildering (to me anyway).

I pick up my new car tomorrow and would like some advice on how to best care for the exterior right from the start. It's Obsidian Black and comes with Bodycare.

Just advice on method and product would be great and if having the Bodycare on it changes any cleaning processes. Thank in advance.

That colour will take some upkeep!

You need to be on THIS forum for the best advice though.

Hi there

If you want the car in moderate condition from new, then you want to take delivery of the car swirl free. You will then want to free the car from all the contaminants that it would of picked up in transportation since building. Then coat the paintwork in a crystal laquer protection. These have the longest durability you can get and look fantastic on a fully corrected black car.
An MBCLUB member has booked in with me next week with his new 63 for paint correction and complete crystal laquer protection on paint, glass & wheels. So will put some pictures up once I have completed it.
