Advice on w201 190 trim/models

Hi all, I'm looking at buying a w201 190 pretty soon, I'm after a black one but I'm not sure on the grey trim around the bottom of the door and on the bumpers. Is this something that us removable that I could spray like a satin black??

Also could you tell me any models I could buy that would be all black instead of grey trim. any pictures would be ideal

sorry if this is a repeat thread but my only access to the net is my phone and I can't get the search function to work

cheers, jay

Hi Jay, Welcome to the forum. As far as I am aware except for very early 190's all come with "two tone" paint jobs. Yes these can be sprayed to match the top colour.
Good Luck in your search.
There is a 190 Forum but danged if I can remember its exact name. Many members of that forum are members on this forum too.

These panels are frequently referred to as "Sacco" boards, after the 190's designer, Bruno Sacco. They can be removed, as they only snap on with plastic clips, which are very easy to break if removed (although the one that cobers the sill is screwed on. There is a knack to removing them without breaking the clips, but to try to describe it here would take too long. If you do get a 190 (and they are excellent cars), the best way to work out how to unclip the panels is to find one in a scrapyard and practise on that one - or find someone who's done it and have them show you. Someone on the 190 forum may be able to help if they're near you.
