Greetings, citizens.

I'm just in the process of chucking some money at the Fiat. TBH, it's had little spent on it since we bought it 3 years ago, so it's well overdue some attention. The choice was to either spend the money or chop it in for something else, but it's been a good little motor so I'm happy to spend the cash.

It had 4 new tyres yesterday and is going in for a major service next Wednesday - so bye bye to about £750 in total. But it should then be good to go for another couple of years, and if you amortise the cost it's pretty reasonable.

If we were going to chop the car in, the no. 1 requirement on Mrs. Gaz's list for its replacement was parking sensors. As we're keeping it, I thought it might be worthwhile to look at an aftermarket installation - has anyone had this done/can recommend someone? I'd like front and rear sensors with audible and visual indicators, from what I've seen this is a 300-400 quid job. Might as well get it done while the wallet's open!

Any pointers would be welcome..

Cheers,

Gaz

With something as easy to place as a Panda I'd probably look at one of the ebay rear camera kits for 40 to 60...not expecting miracles at that sort of money!

I have merc dealer fitted aftermarket parking front and rear...proper merc sensors but add-on rather than part of command (don't ask. Every time I look at my little add on front sensor lights I think WHY). The snag is that I simply don't trust the non factory fitted sensors, merc or not. When faced with reversing that big s class derrière I never trust the countdown of the lights...I don't feel like it has the implied guarantee of safety that a factory system would have, I doubt the coverage, awkward angles etc etc

When I get around to it I'm fitting a 50 quid ebay-china camera to the rear bumper powered by the reverse light and plumbed to AUX video.
