Just had the Air Con tested on my w208 55 to be told there is a very small leak but not obvious in the engine bay, so the guy believes it is the evaporator behind the dash.

What is involved to remove the evaporator to repair/replace?

thanks
Ian

If its got dye in the system then usually the dye will leak out the air con drains underneath the car when the evaporator fails.
It's a complete dash strip to replace

Hi,
Info for the O/P the video above is for a 202 which is very similar if not the same as your 208.
I think I would get yourself a second opinion before attempting this as it is a big big job to tackle, complete dash, centre console, pedal box, complete steering column removal required.
These systems fitted to these cars are pretty robust normally, only suffering from damaged or rotten condensers, so I would get this double checked and all the lines under the bonnet including where the pipes connect to the compressor, first before attempting.

Holy crap... thats 1 heck of a job.

Sell up and buy another car.

Thanks Guys,
I had a new condenser fitted in July 2010 and apparently it is in good shape, so the leak must be elsewhere.
The leak is very small, therefore is it possible to get some kind of sealant and pump round the system?
