Air passes through cabin even when AC is off

I have this strange problem in my '99 c230. Whilst driving, air is constantly coming through the vents even when all the A/C, air, fan etc are shut off.

I have to switch the knob to the upper windshield vents in order to not have the air hitting my face when I'm driving.

Does anyone know what causes this problem? It's really annoying. Thank you in advance for your respones

I've never had a car that doesn't do this. Have you got an air re-circulation control?

As above - All my car's in the past did this. It should only be a gentle breeze though.

The centre vents are for fresh air...if you don't want it, you do as you did, and turn it off...simples.

Do you have the manual for this car?

ah I see, it hasn't done this before but if it's normal then I'll leave it be. The faster I drive, the stronger the current and vice versa.
