Alps 2013 Weistec E63 AMG

Why did you sell up Alps?

I never really bonded with E63 5.5 I test drove after selling my E55K - but I know we are all different.

I think there will always be a small place in my heart for an E55K though.

Whilst I am not actively pursuing one and would probably never get another, if I discovered a 2005/2006 minter for good money, I can't swear on my life I wouldn't be tempted.

I guess more nostalgia than a proper urge!

Feel for you my mate, though understand the sentiments entirely.

Strangely, or coincidentally, I've just sold my W213 E63s as well so we both had them around the same length of time.

Funnily, I never really gelled with the W213 though it did have a hard act to follow with the taxi. I went from a car which I'd got how I wanted it to standard factory again. I couldn't modify/personalise the new one as there were several little electrical niggles, none of which were particularly serious, though enough to have to keep taking it back in to Mercedes to get fixed. I know that if I'd been playing with the maps, this could potentially have been used against me, hence the reason it was kept standard.

I also happen to know that Alps felt the same with the W212, in that whilst certainly liking the car, he never really formed a bond with it. Shame really but let's see what tomorrow brings... :D

Its a shame mate, i think we mod our cars to how we like them, by the time i sold it the taxi was driving like a dream, smooth shifts , all out power, something that only just cracked a month or so ago! but albeit id made up my mind and it was to go.

no idea whats going to come next so lets wait and see, first time in over 20 years im mercless!

I hope the new owner does join here and that he looks after it, although i am getting the feeling it wont be the same car after he has had it :(

It's funny that when you decide to sell your car, it seems to drive better then it ever has all the time you've owned it. Or is it just me.:)

The ownerS of this car (and similar) are one of the key reasons why I visit this site - you guys make it a delight for people like me.

I am an original “barrow boy” when it comes to car conversions but do not have sufficiently deep pockets to play with AMG derived engines but thoroughly enjoy seeing the results.

Love the latest “stanz”
