Can someone please tell me what Alternator replacement I need for my 2006 E 320 CDI Elegance.

You might only have to replace the rectifier/control pack/brushes --- a lot cheaper than a complete alternator-- a good auto electrician should be able to advise you.

There is usually a manufacturer model/serial no plate somewhere on the unit. Might be able to see with the aid of a mirror?
