Expensive, ugly and tacky all in one go. Money can't buy taste is certainly true in this case. Nasty.
And yours for the thick end of a million quid. No thinks.

Haha, well I guess they're not confident about the looks either, or they wouldn't have photographed it in the dark. But if I was Bruce Wayne I'd have one of those for my daily runabout.

Whilst I'm no fan of the tacky & in your face features, I wouldn't "kick it out of bed".
Love your Batman's daily hack analogy Chris, sums it up perfectly imho.

Fortunately I have no money, so my complete lack of taste has limited potential to offend others 😀

I think it’s great, although I’d be exploring other wheel options. There is no one-size-fits-all at Brabus, they’ll happily work with customers on completely bespoke specification, and that can mean making it “less” rather than “more”.

A lot of Brabus customers follow the “house” look of the cars which Brabus themselves specify for photos, publicity and social media, but they also build some sleepers which are much more subtle, especially on the outside.

One of the few things I like even more than Brabus is a coach built car - and especially a shooting brake - and the fact that Brabus are coach building cars in 2024 is genuinely something to celebrate as there are so few doing it now.

I’ll take mine in black, with silver wheels, and a two tone black and light grey interior please Constantin 👍🏻

It looks fantastic IMO.

I know absolutely nothing about car styling, but I have witnessed a tendency for many to pronounce sentence on a particular trend when it first appears only to be following it themselves a few years later.
The Audi type grille introduced in the mid noughties is a case in point. People were horrified at first, but wouldn't be seen dead in the 'old style' cars a few years later. :dk:

I think their confidence in the design is shown in fact that they have taken the photos in near darkness!!

You could sell your classic Astra collection? 😁

It’s a good idea but if I did sell my collection of classic Astras, then what I do with all of the left over cash, because this new Brabus is only €1m?

It would be such a shame break up the #1 Astra collection in Causton and surrounding Midsummer villages. Some say it’s a national treasure.

Good points and well made!

Sell them to Beaulieu?

Could Mrs D find some appropriate use for the excess funds?

The test of real design purity is if it survives the test of time and still looks good. German cars relatively restrained styling has worked well for them in the past but they are getting more adventurous. There are many worse though. Truth is I think the trend to over stylising cars will mean most date quickly. One of the reasons I first bought a Mercedes was the thought that it would still look good at 10, 15 or 20 years old and it did.

When I look at hundreds of cars out on the road today, very very few look to me to have homogeneous styling that going to last. German and Italian are still the best. Some others like one of the Korean makes are just hideous. Some Japanese are nearly as bad. And they shouldn't have to be expensive, where are the simple classy designs like a Peugeot 205 that looks like a Pininfarina effort even though it wan't.

The 205 was designed in house by Gérard Welter, most of the previous PEUGEOTs had been designed by Pininfarina..but Pininfarina "consoled" themselves by designing the PEUGEOT 205 cabriolet!!

IIRC the Audi type grille was a copy of the ‘Premium’ Grille fitted to the Rover 75 V8 RWD, and to answer the question asked in the thread heading, No!

Imagine spending nearly £1m on your tasteless 1000 bhp c0ck rocket to then find yourself left standing at the traffic lights by a fellow vulgarian in a Satsuma Somethingorother packing 1500+ bhp* that cost less than 10%* of what you squandered:
