The car is a 2008 CLK. I need to touch-up a patch, about 1 inch by two, on the steering wheel. The paint code is 805A - Amaretta Beige. Has anyone found a reasonable colour match?

That's incorrect; Almond Beige (which is much too dark in the Sofolk illustration) is code 205. 805A is Amaretta Beige, unless my datacard is wrong.

Would it make sense to drop them a line with the challenge? They're the ones saying it's 805A
Maybe they've got what you want but the web page is just wrong?

Nobody I've found seems to do Amaretta Beige anymore, and that's definitely Almond Beige in the image; one of my E500 estates, I think, had that.

I only need a tiny amount, so a close match will do; doesn't have to be perfect.

If they can't provide it, surely they're likely to be able to mix it for you?

They seem to make colours, not just sell colours made by others.

They can do Amaretta, with no number given, but it's a now non-standard colour and the cost will be 50 euros all-in, plus any duty payable. Seems a lot for a two square inch patch which will not be visible when my right hand is on the steering wheel in the classic 'ten to two' position...

With no obvious UK supplier, sounds like its time to refurbish or replace the whole wheel

Pause for thought: does an R230 wheel fit the C209 ?

Too pricey... Apart from that little patch, the rest of the wheel is OK.

Lightbulb moment... I used to make a lot of Airfix models many years ago, using Humbrol paints. They're still in business, 170-odd colours. Two tins of paint, which I would say will mix to be easily 'good enough for government work' for £6, and a spot of satin varnish (I have some somewhere) and that'll do me nicely. If not, it's still only £6. :thumb:
