I've just seen exactly that nerar my home.
Black Astra with "Google" stickers on the doors, and what looks like three SPECS cameras on the roof.
Am I going to be on the telly?
Out of curiosity, what speed would you guess this vehicle was treavelling at whilst it was on the motorway?Saw one of these on the M6 going through the Lakes on Friday afternoon

Absolutely,I remember Sue and I discussing that it was pretty brave of the guy to be driving at ANY speed in that particular area with a load like that, given the cross winds that can be experienced. I'm guessing that was the reason behind your question?
Steve the deducer......

Absolutely,
I have NO interest in what speeds we travel at along our motorways and the next time I stick to 70mph will be the first time.
I cannot begin to think about how dangerous it might be for this vehicle travelling at 60mph along a motorway
The drag on that equipment must be horrendous and I would suggest the driver might even be getting close to being reckless if they were actually travelling at that type of speed.
Try standing up on the foot-pegs of a motorbike travelling at 60mph to get some idea of wind drag.
I can see some sense in these vehicles photographing our streets but a motorway???? The pictures they use at present are more than adequate and I cannot see the need for this technology to be used on these fast and sometimes extremely busy routes.

John
