Ambient lighting

Not sure if you got to the bottom of it. I am sure if you have 'ambient' lighting installed from OEM you have would have a minimum of 3 colours. Two 0f my cars a 2012 models (W166 & C218), both have ambient lighting and a huge choice of 3 colours 😂. Can't recall the exact namesMB have given them, but it is basically, blue, white or orange.

Changeable via the cluster menu, however I would imagine in newer models this may not be the case.

Here is some options:

Hi, as it turned out it doesn't have ambient lighting, just the single colour lights (yellow/amber) in the door handles/footwell etc. Am going to wait (probably until after christmas) then get back in touch with Braybrooks to possible get it installed

Think I'd be suicidal at 60k depreciation in 4 yrs 😭😭

I can afford it! Depreciation stopped being a concern for me about 30 years ago.

I'd much rather spec my own car, exactly as I want it, and drive it brand new out the show room without anyone else's farts in it! :)

Me too but I'm spending the saving, or will spend if we are allowed out 🙄, on travel. Early days tho, it's good retiring early 😎✈️

Mine just had white, the rainbow software wasn't on screen, it is now 😜👍

I'm retired but purchase fully specified cars as I don't have the time or inclination to hunt around trying to upgrade a used car that is not what I really wanted:cool: :) . Too busy having holidays and spending money on my hobbies!:p

To be fair, I usually buy new cars. However my SL fully specified was ~£84 k when I ticked what I want. Looked on CarWow and could get what I wanted (NEW) for the same price as a 3 year old. So no brainer...buy a new one & depreciation was never a factor as I'd always be ahead of the game.

I want to keep it a while, it is a great tourer and head turner. We've done done a couple of Europe trips + Scotland + Irelnad so far, and it is the dogs Bs.

Will probably give it to my son (if he wants it) when I'm done with it.

My goodness, am I reading that right, a brand new one is the same cost as a three year old car of the same spec? Incredible.

Welcome, Taximan, you've probably not got the option to change the colour of the ambient lighting on a 2012 W212, unless somebody knows different. :) 👍

It’s true, I’ve not changed the lights in years but I might do now.

Been reading this thread with interest I have the 3 coloured version but it’s very dim especially on the centre console, I have it set to 5 in the menu but it’s not very good is this a fault or just what it is and is there a way of having it altered by a dealer for extra brightness

Hi all recently purchased v class and would like to add ambient lighting to dash and front doors etc. Would that have to be fitted at merc dealership? Also any idea of cost? Thanks

I have just found another alternatives site to help you do free VIN decoder break down. Click here to go to it. Find your VIN number that is usually 16 to 17 digits and input it in the system.
