c43 amg
Hi,

I'm currently looking to purchase a C43 AMG from a local dealer and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips to look for or ask after. I've already had a viewing of the car and whilst I'm not mechanically minded it looks to be in good condition.

I've checked all the gaps between the panels. The Arches for rust but these all look fine, the interior is in good condition and all the buttons seem to be working.

It was flat when I looked but the seller started it with a jump pack and it turned first time, bit of white smoke from the exhaust but I think it's probably not been turned over in a good while.

There were two lights on ESP and The one directly below not sure what it was but the seller advised that these weren't on before and would just be as a result of starting from flat.

It's got 169000 on the clock with a full history (later part not MB) but this is reflected in the price. It's also doesn't seem to come with any recipes which is a shame.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
John

Check for oil leaks
Really have a good look at the sills, pop all the jacking point covers off and get a torch in there, the side skirts cover a multitude of sins, underneath make sure the sill isn't soft at any point.
Check for good power when accelerating without holding back or transmission slip at any point.
(Bas/esp light will be down to flat battery)
Bar the usual checks knocks/bangs, brakes and tyres the c43 is a good solid reliable car, will still suprise a lot of people, and if looked after will only appreciate in value.

Post your email address here and i will do some further checks for you and reply via email.
