W208 CLK55 AMG, W208 CLK320 (being sold)
I've recently purchased two sets of these alloys for my W208 CLK320. I purchased the second set because two of the wheels in the first set turned out to be cracked. Now the second set have arrived, and one has been previously repaired, another has a very suspect black section that looks like a weld that's been ground down and left bare.

All the fronts are stamped as HWA1704010102, the rears as HWA1704010202. I've noticed that there are two different manufacturers for these wheels. They are all marked as AMG, but 6 of them are marked as STTI (?), while 2 are BBS. The way the sets were made up is as follows:

Set 1:
Front: both STTI
Rear: both BBS

Set 2 - all STTI

Unfortunately, due to the imperfect alloys in each set, I've ended up with the below set of undamaged (and not visibly repaired) alloys:

Front: both STTI
Rear: one BBS & one STTI

Does anyone know if running a non-matching pair will cause a problem? I thought I better check as the inside face of the alloy where they put the text is different. I've included pictures of the backs of both types of alloy, plus a picture from the front.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

l would not make any difference as long as the wheel is TRUE ,consider if one of the wheels were damaged and it were to be replaced with a replica or some other brand. lm sure there are plenty of wheels on cars with one odd wheel or different manufacture on the road..

I figured as much, but just wanted to put the question out there to be sure.

Both wheels were manufactured for AMG and given the same model number, the only difference is the grooves for the text and a slight variation in the shape of the bolt holes on the inside. I'd like to think AMG would have very detailed requirements that the wheel would have to meet.

As you say, even if I had a complete set of BBS or STTI wheels, if I had to source a replacement I couldn't guarantee I could get the same brand.

Make sure you have the correct bolts to suit the shape. I once used a spare bolt that I had hanging around and although the length was exactly the same, the shape was different allowing the bolt to (only just) foul the handbrake shoes on a 210. It wasn't a standard set up, I was using spacers, but I only discovered the shape was different afterwards.

Holes

Having been out and checked again, it's not the bolt holes that differ, it's the other holes that sit between them.

The STTI has much deeper holes than the BBS, while the little notches at the edge of the hole are narrower on the STTI. Images attached to demonstrate.

Would this definitely not cause a problem when running these two wheels together at the back?
