How do you add these to a non amg seat? the auction says you can, but how would you attach? This is for a S550 with AMG sport package and it has the holes in the leather.

Hmmm. I am thinking you would have to remove the seat back. No idea how the actual badge would be secured.

I had to have one of my AMG badges replaced while it was at D-Class.

Bruce is quite correct. You push the pins through the seat then attach the locking piece as shown in the Ebay picture. It was a real pain to do and it was being done by a professional.
I think it would be even more difficult with a non AMG seat as where the badge goes there is quite an indentation. I think the pins might be to short.

I would also try the main dealers as CKS do have highly inflated prices.

Ok, sounds like a pain in the butt. I may be better off cutting the pins off and adhearing it to the back myself :)

Question 2. When you see pictures of AMG seats that are "quilted" in the middle area and seat backs, if I'd want to do that to mine, does the whole leather eat cover need replaced, or can you just swap out the middle area with the "quilted" leather?

Your choice - if the surrounding leArher is good then you San reuse and replace specific panels

C43Amg, I emailed the ebay seller about the AMAG logos and he said all that needed removed is where the arrows are?

Was this the case?

I would have thought so. That would allow you access to the guts of the seat back. Pop one off and have look.

They are usually screwed on through the bottom of the panel. Then hook over the top. So undo screws and push upwards to release.

What ever you do don't 'stick' em on to the seat! It will look naff and every possibility that it will come off with seat occupancy movement.

You also want that indent in the leather around the badge.

:) I was thinking out loud, but if it's too hard to do, they do sell some emblems that adhere. I'm all about doing it the right way if I can.

Now, that indent is just accomplished by how tight you screw them on from behind I suppose...

Jackie

I would try and remove the seat back first (as per my previous post) this should take about two minutes. From that you will see what else (if anything) there is in the way.

I would not (as others have said) attempt gluing them on. They will just come off with normal wear/rubbing.

It could be a "more time than it's worth job" or it could be a five minute looks great job. Get the back off, that will show you whats left to do, or whether to give up.

Interesting. It looks as if the 2014 S63 AMG seat logos are no longer recessed. Maybe due the existing ones coming off from the tension?

AMG sport pack or not, if you really must do it, buy the badges off the main dealer and do a proper recessed job than just sticking these eBay imitations on your otherwise genuine S-Class.

Those pics above are from a 2014 car and are oem, and are NOT recessed anymore. I'm thinking of doing it factory but doing it like the 2014, with less tension, so it doesn't indent, and maybe it won't come off like the years that were "indented". There is probably a reason why they aren't doing it indented anymore.

It is much easier to go W222 style and superglue them but they won't look right because your car is W221. Badges with tension look much better even though they have been discontinued probably due being too impractical.

Why would the W222 style look right?

And some more pics:
