hi there, is anybody try to fit the new e class alloy to the w210 car. i went to mercedes and the guy said it is imposible because this rim has different bolt. i heard that this rim can be fitted with a modify nut. any suggestion?

thanks

Different bolt? That sounds like a load of rubbish but there is a slim possibility that it's true.

The W210 ought to take W211 rims but so far I've not been able to find out if it will, no-one has volunteered this information and dispite much talk about offsets and other wheel geometry data no conclusion has been drawn.

The W210 will happily accept W203 wheels though, is the same style wheel available for the W203?

In the meantime I am going to check which accessory wheel styles are shared between W203 and W211, if any are then and the accessory numbers are the same then the wheels are the same, if W210 == W203 and W203 == W211 then W210 == W211 ;)

Good luck getting an answer from mercedes, they tend to be a bit robotic and they read answers from a prepared script rather than actually finding anything out these days.

i got this wheel from a guy on ebay. he said that he used that wheel on the w210 year 2000. and it proof by the picture of the rims on the car. it look nice anyway. i phoned him today he said that he used special bolt that he got it from garage, he said to me i can get the bolt for £20, but there is no lock nut. what i am thinking is, if there are no lock nut, i am in trouble due to the thief.

i went to mercedes, that guy refuse to sell me the bolt, due it is different in diameter, he said that would be he liability if he sell the bolt.

i got the part number of the rim a230401 20 02. it has 8.5j for front with offset et30 and rear got 9.5 j with offset et33. The tyres are 235/40/18 for front and 275/35/18 for rear. just like amg setup, and it event got amg badge on the rim.

it would be nice if i can fit these alloys on my car.

does anyone knows that where can i get the nut and lock nut.

thanks

That's not even a W211 rim, that is from an SL, R230. They should fit without too many problems, the SL strangely uses wheels with the same dimensions as the normal passengers cars, not the S/CL type sizes.

Have you tried using a normal alloy wheel bolt?

thank's shude, i manage to find the a sl bolt, and it is perfectly sit on the hub.i have to go to merc dealer again to get the rest of the bolt and the lock nut. i think there should be no more problem.

As long as the bolts are long enough but don't foul the parking brake you should be fine.

Try to remember that stealership employees are all about stock vehicles and usually have little concept of modification or upgrade. Sometimes you find a useful person that has broken free of their programming but it is rare ;)

Bolts are really important to get right when you do a 211/230/163 to M12 car (like the 210) conversion. We buy special bolts from Germany for this purpose. M12x1.5x26R14. The M14 bolt cars have larger seat radii - if you use a std M12 bolt it is likley to have an R12 radius which will not have the correct friction surface to secure the M14 bolt wheel! The std OEM M12x1.5x39R12 bolts are far too long and are not threaded to the head - don't attempt to use them.
