An interesting take on the new technology of Electric Cars as seen by a Canadian.

That electricity rate quoted if it is correct $1.16 per kwh. Appears to be three or more times higher than the UK average of around £0.15.

It must be a mistake in the original article as Canadian electricity prices are approx. half UK prices. Perhaps it should have been $0.16 per kWh.

Surely not a mistake given how well researched and reasoned the rest of it was..... :)
 
Could indeed be $0.16 kwh, also the article mentions a 70amp supply, whereas in the UK the Tesla charger is 30amp. Just dawned on me as I was writing this, that Canada uses 110v. So everything needs a higher current, 30amp here is around 7.4kw, so you would need 70amp in Canada for the same kw charge rate. So any figures quoted are way off base for the UK.
