What kind of mileage have you put on your car over the last 3 1/2 years? I guess it’s under 35k
The depreciation numbers since since 2019 have been ridiculously low. A unique time, thanks to Covid-19, the supply chain problems, and the arrival of EVs. Normally you would have lost 25-30%.
Going forward, you won’t see depreciation numbers this low again. You’ll certainly lose £20+k on your new car by 2026.
After all this chat, it’s not clear what you use your car for. Do you “need” the luxury of the Merc or the sporty drive of the M340i
Oh, and don’t buy an Aston Martin without talking to a couple of owners. They’re rubbish. They drive badly, they’re built badly and their maintenance costs are absurd. They look great and have that wonderful image, but Astons are best as garden ornaments for people who use half a dozen cars.
I've done 11,500 miles in almost 4 years. I work from home and the car sits on the driveway most of the week.
Losing £20k on the BMW in 4 years goes is a lower estimate than I've already made, I was thinking closer to £30k, and I'm good with that.
I don't need a luxury or sporty car. I just want one
