.....aircon condenser removal on a 2010 w212 E350 CDI?
Think mine has a leak...if I pressurise the system I can hear a hissing from that area..... but have not nailed down exactly where the leak is though....nothing I can see or feel from the front with the grille off....but the fins on the condenser fall apart with the slightest touch... so I'm guessing it's that..... unless you have a better idea. Hissing coming from the drivers side of the condenser area if that helps. Next step is to get the undertray off for a better look.
Thanks.

Well, 2021.

He did...and it's useful...but not that much detail.

What info do you need? Just pop any questions in here.
I know you're handy with spanners on cars. Should be a walk in the park.

Here's the link for the info I wrote (so others can find it):

Changing the refrigerant line - compressor to condenser - w212 E350 | Parts, Maintenance & Servicing

As per that post, here is the high level summary for condenser removal
:
"In summary, that was undertrays off, bumper off, intercooler off and brackets off, remove the plastic casing from the edges of the condensers and wiggle the old one out and then new one in. Then refit the plastic casings. It's quite easy to remove and refit the plastic casing in-situ, but the condenser won't fit through 'the gap' if the black plastic casing down the edge is still attached (the casing is push-fit)."

I think it's all straight forwards. I cracked on without looking at any instructions other than take the bumper off. I strongly advise bumper off.

Also note that you will (I think) need to remove the slam panel to take the bumper off, so you can get to two hidden 10mm(ish) bolt heads, like those holding the slam panel on, and it's a bit of a knuckle grazer in terms of room. The bolts are one-a-side close to the headlights.

Once you get the bumper off, you can see everything and if you're handy on cars, it will be very evident what needs to detach. Access is obviously superb with the bumper and intercooler off.

Note that corroded pressure sensor issue I had. It would be worth a look and fiddle with that connection in advance with the undertray off to see if you can disconnect the aircon hose. If not, you will need a new hose after cutting the old one off, and it is much easier to do all this in a one-er.

Thanks.... very useful info.
