Any other Magma Red R129's on the forum?

Are there any other Magma Red R129 SL's owned by forum members?

Mine is a late 98 SL320 in magma red (Code 586) - it was the colour that attracted me to it! However, I rarely see any others in the UK - there was a '99 example for sale at a Mercedes dealer in Edinburgh a few months back but that's been about it.

Is there any way of finding out how many Magma red R129 SL's were sold in the UK?

Got a 1999 C200 in Magma red that appears also to be pretty rare - May have something to do with car being bought in Germany and brought in as a personal import.

I think magma was a standard colour back in the late 90's even in the UK but it seems like very few people in the UK thought it looked good back then!

Red just isn't a popular colour on MBs. You can write to MB Stuttgart - they're the only people who can search records like this.

We were just talking about unusual colours on the official MB club forum. I get so bored with the clichéd azurite blues etc. Mine's green/black which I'm also bored with now (I've had it ten years), but I love imperial red, though I'm not usually a fan of red at all. I don't think I've seen magma red in the flesh. It looks a bit orangey?

Green black and blue black are great colours on any mercedes! I wouldn't say that magma is orangey but it's certainly a lot brighter than imperial if the two colours are side by side. There is a 99 sl320 in chalcedony blue on eBay at the minute. It's the only one I've ever seen in that colour - looks very well although I think the darker colours suit the sl better
