Any thought on this S320....Looking tomorrow

Looks very nice,no mention of service history though, good price as well,to be safe have some sort of independent inspection,if not see how seller reacts at the mention of it.good hunting!

That S Class and one other car are the only ones above £1,000. Is the dealer in Albert Square by any chance?

Check the air suspension, has histrionic which is a nice option to have.

My first thought would be 'how do you tell if it's been used as a cab for the last 3 years?'

"histrionic?" that's got to be an autocorrect special :D

I would give it a wide berth. A 2.5k S-class is not going to be trouble free. If you go and see it look for rust on the arches, bottom of the doors and round the sunroof. Check to see if the carpets are wet or take a drive by first thing in the morning to see how much condensation is in the car. Check the airmatic suspension is working without the motor making a huge racket.

Should be a great buy.
Those engines are bullet proof. My friend had one with 0.5 million kilometers on the clock-still running with no issues.
Check for leaks, when gear box oil was done, airmatic if raises with no noises and obviously for those miles engine should sound sweat.
Good luck probably you will buy it :)

the ad says 165k FSH so it seems as though it has history

Nope, it's a feature of out-of-warranty top of the range Mercs stuffed with electronics. Histrionic causes random failure of key modules, induces limp home mode and causes a lot of grief.

HTH

A blinding website which speaks volumes

:D One of those rare, very special ones you see occasionally. Minimalism to the extreme. Well done whoever built that! :D

In the world of dodgy London car dealers I'm told that this means it has a full record of a service...

If there is any distance to travel to see it, i'd save my money!

Always worth a look if that is your budget, but having owned an S class, some repairs can be expensive. It may have airmatic suspension where the pump repacement is approx £400+ if the struts go, it can be even higher. They rust, as many Mercs of that era did but not as bad as the E Class did, wheel arches in particular.

No histronic is an electronic version of the service history that can be called up on the command screen.

Yeah, just joking :-)
