Anyone else been looking at the new TomTom range?

A little more information..

I paired the unit with my telephone and have been tinkering with a few features..... :-)

The TT will read your incoming text messages with the selected voice automatically. Very handy while you are driving - just be sure your mates aren't sending bad language while you are driving your mum around.

The TT call handling as a handsfree unit via Bluetooth is a little flaky in my opinion, but I'll reserve judgement until I've had a proper play with it.

Traffic updates via Bluetooth and GPRS seem to work very well indeed.

New screen a little difficult to read in sunny conditions - probably need to get a screen protector for it that reduces glare.

The unit automatically senses night and day - adjusting the display colours and brightness. Very impressive.

The included windscreen mount is a much better design that the last version, although as you drive over bumps it moves. Lots of discussion about this on the forums - no doubt it will be rectified soon by TT. Probably a recall/replacement.

Sound output through the mount's audio output is good and clear. Tried it through the Mini's AUX port.

Maps are of superior quality to those on my old TTG. New features seem to include things such as bus lanes, etc.

Built in speed camera database is OK, but not as good as pocketgps.co.uk's. Will warn of overspeed where the speed limit is understood by way of blinking red speed indication. As the unit is running whole of Europe maps at once, I have a suspiscion that having all countries' speed cameras enabled is loading up the machine.

More as I discover it.
