On the other hand, you might prefer an M156 over an M157. Neither is likely to disappoint.<br /> <br /> Ask the seller what the paint code is; it looks about as close to black (yawn...) as you could get. Nice car without a doubt anyway.<br /> <br /> Would there be any concerns over head bolts on that one, or was the problem solved by the time the Edition 125 version came out?</div>

Eg an old shade from the 80s, DB199 known as ‘blue black metallic’ looks dark grey to most people, but in bright light has hues of blue and sometimes other tones (they often have several versions of a particular paint code depending on year/supplier - eg 744 silver can look bright silver in some and more grey in others)<br /> <br /> Price wise you’ll have to decide for yourself. I’m not in the market for a C63 so can’t comment, however with a car like this I’d gladly pay more for a pristine example - what would a cheaper/higher mileage/slightly tatty car cost? <div class="bbWrapper">2012 still had the fat indicator stalk underneath the cruise control stalk which I don't like. 2013 onwards had a slimmer indicator stalk at the usual quarter to position. <br /> <br /> There are a shed load of C63 cars for sale right now and it's tough selling privately with no warranty at this price point. I'd offer £25,000 which I'm sure they'd reject initially until they realise no other better offers are coming along. <br /> <br /> Personally I'd forgo the performance pack to get a 2013 or later car. You get the same power after a simple £400 remap and if you want the better brakes you can fit the upgraded discs to a standard car. Steering wheel can be retrimmed in alcantara if you wish and most PPP cars don't actually have the LSD because it was optional. You need to get the VIN and check out the build sheet online.</div>

My ideal car would be a palladium c63 with black leather, LSD and less than 30k on the clock but I haven’t really seen many in this colour for sale. I’ve seen one on autotrader with 22k miles and been kept outside under a car cover, been for sale a few months now and kept outside so that kind of puts me off</div>

All you're really getting that you can't easily replicate is some forged engine internals. That would be nice but it's not needed to support the standard 500+bhp these engines make when unrestricted.<br /> <br /> The PPP or standard discs are interchangeable as the PPP calipers are the same as standard just painted red. The steering wheel can be retrimmed to your taste for less than £200 and most cars don't have the LSD.<br /> <br /> Personally, I didn't see the point of paying the premium when I've ended up with something which as at least as good if not better. The above car popped up on auto trader and grabbed my attention since it looks well cared for and low ownership.<br /> Ive paid for a parkers online valuation and it comes out at 23500 for the above car from a private sale and 27k from a dealer, I don have access to trade books to see what value they have it coming out as.</div>

I personally like to keep it standard and I would never consider buying a modified car, but that's just me.<br /> <br /> Agree, m156 is very reliable. How do you know when you need to replace camshaft adjusters? Do they check it during a routine service?</div>

Have you driven one? I think you should...<br /> <br /> Nobody would refer to the 6.2 as slow, but it's all relative, isn't it? Perhaps I should have said &quot;neither will disappoint in performance terms&quot;. It really comes down to which type of engine you prefer, and (in the case of the rather loud C63) how important the noise it makes is to you.</div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">P.s. to the OP, that is a hell of a lot of car for the money, a mint barely run family car with a supercar engine. The last of the naturally aspirated 6.2 V8, I doubt these will depreciate much further as they are last of a breed. I'm keeping mine for the foreseeable! Put it another way, what else can you get for 27k? Doubt you can even get a new boggo C220d for that these days.</div>
