Pops up on the dash now and again and goes away after a few seconds. Had a B service at the Dealers yesterday. Never noticed it before the service.
Car is 2006 B180 CDI.

Cheers,
Steve

Hello

As above, its normal on start up. With my wifes I turn the key part way until the light shows, then put my seatbelt on. Once clicked I turn the key the rest of the way.

Its the glow plug warm up light. If you just turn the car on as you would a petrol you probably miss it? although I was under the impression you have to wait for it to go out hence my 'technique' above.

If its on when driving then thats a different matter :(

Sorry guys should have mentioned that it is coming on while driving. It stays on for a few seconds then disappears. Hope its not a big issue.

Illuminated for 30 seconds? If so it indicates one or more glow plug has failed.

Thinking of it yes I would say around 30 seconds. Is it a cheap fix?

BTW I like your avatar! :)

Changing one is said to be a false economy as the others will be towards the end of their life too, so best change them all.

A main dealer quoted me £200 a couple of years ago to do all five on our ML (five cylinder engine), and each glow plug was a little less than £15 each.

No need to rush to get it fixed, as it will still start OK.
