Apple CarPlay crashes

Hi,
I have a 2017 E Class Estate with apple carplay as a standard feature. However, it seems that it keeps crashing after 20 minutes of starting where for example google maps starts getting delays before the images start to break. In most cases the native MB system freezes and the screen becomes black. Sometimes if I have a music app on and google maps on and I receive a phone call, carplay crashes and freezes.

any ideas on what can be the solution? Does the car need a software update?

Hi,
If you were to take the car to MB with these issues there route to diagnosis would almost certainly start with seeing if the system needs updating.
So your options are either to book into the dealer, or depending where you are in London get yourself booked into Catalog
They have OEM STAR and specialize in MB In Car Entertainment, so if it requires anything more than a software update then you are in the right place.

I would try it with another iphone first and see if it still does it.
