Are these centre caps genuine?

I bought these from a very well known online alloy wheel seller the other day. These were advertised as genuine Mercedes items and bought at the normal silly Mercedes price of £43 +shipping.

On opening the box it struck me that the labelling was very different from the last pair of these I'd bought. In addition, I'm a little bit concerned that the quality is not on par with the set I bought some years ago and if truth be told, they don't seem an awful lot better than some dodgy chinese rip offs that I foolishly bought on ebay a few months back.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid ... but I just want to make sure I'm not being taken for a mug.

I'm sure there's a few peeps that have bought these from an MB parts counter recently and could express an opinion or perhaps even have a photo or two to compare.

Yes they are original

I thought the same when I bought a brand new set with identical packaging off the bay, but I only paid £16 so wasn't too bothered. They fit perfectly which apparently a lot of copies don't.
Looks like I bagged a bargain (Apart from the fact I don't particularly like them now they are on the car!)

So did my chinese copies - in fact the chinese copies came in mercedes packaging also - unlike these.

What, they had the part numbers inside?

Compared side by side... The one on the left is most definitely fake - not sure about the one on the right at this point.

I bought a set of £10 for four copies off Ebay , they came exactly like you describe and show.

With a 220 part number on the back too , but they are obviously copies.

Interesting! I wonder if they're the same as they both say they fit all MB alloy wheels! :D

clear as mud then...

They fit better if you remove the circular wire circlip fingy and expand it outwards a fair bit, then refit it to the cap and then you get a much tighter fit!

:D

Genuine items £13.20 from inchcape based on that part number.

B66470202 are Titanium Silver and the ones ending ........206 are Sterling Silver.

Sp!ke, if you paid by Paypal you can get your money back very easily if they are described as genuine but are fake.

But are they fake - it seems we have mixed views in this thread.
