Has anyone heard of these tyres....any experience?

When I bought my CLK in April it was MOT'd by dealer, when I picked it up they said the two rear tyres had cuts in them so had been replaced with new, was quite happy, but did not pay a lot of attention to what they were....kind of assumed they would have been replaced with manufacturer reccomended tyres....Continetals??.....never assume:doh:

Cant say I've had any issues but thought i'd ask as the fronts are well on way to needing replacement.

Cheers

Never had arrowspeed myself there a budget tyre from kwik fit. If your going to buy budget tyres go for falken they seem to get some good reviews.

A quick google turned this up :

What did the car tyre test say?
Recently, the car buying magazine “What Car?” conducted this very test1. What was used in the test?

Premium tyres: Michelin (£70), Goodyear (£60), and Continental (£58).
Budget tyres: Arrowspeed (£44), Ovation (£37), and Sunew (£37).
The car: Vauxhall Meriva
Equipment: GPS-based timing equipment
Test 1 – stopping distances in dry conditions travelling at 70mph:
Michelin Pilot Sport 3 – 48.5 metres
Continental ContiPremium Contact 2 – 51.1 metres
Sunew YS112 – 52.2 metres
Goodyear Optigrip – 53.4 metres
Ovation VI-182 – 53.4 metres
ArrowSpeed CP661 – 53.9 metres
So comparing the best premium brand tyre against the worst budget tyre, the stopping difference was 5 metres longer for the budget tyre. Goodyear didn’t fair too well in this test did they?

Test 2 – stopping distances in wet conditions travelling at 70mph:
Michelin Pilot Sport 3 – 59.5 metres
Goodyear Optigrip – 62.1 metres
Continental ContiPremium Contact 2 – 64.3 metres
ArrowSpeed CP661 – 68.2 metres
Ovation VI-182 – 76.0 metres
Sunew YS112 – 82.4 metres

Yep I agree, buy good quality branded tyres. Budgets a false economy and some dangerous. Ie fulrun tyres. IMHO

Nope, they didn't, that said on a twisty road I'd take the Goodyears over the budgets any day.

The arrowspeed are a budget whereas Falken are mid range.

Agreed, Falkens are up there with the best, far better than mere budget tyres. As for the Goodyears, I've used their Optigrip tyres for the last few years, about 4 or 5 sets of them. Absolute cr*p in the wet with next to no grip at all, I cannot believe they finished above the Conti's in wet braking, must be a misprint.

Before anyone asks, they were on a fleet vehicle, we have no choice on what tyres are fitted.
