Hi,

I've recently bought a ML350 Blutech. It a great car but I've just noticed that the drivers seat bolster [nearest to the door] is starting to crack and some of the top surface is de-laminating.

Can anyone advise me where I can get a repair done near Sheffield S. Yorks?

Many thanks for you reply.

I found it was cheaper to buy a replacement used seat from a newer car

Recently had the drivers seat bolster replaced on my 65 plate W205. Full electric memory seat cost £95.00 cash, well pleased. Cheapest replacement seat I could find was £230.00. If you can't find a car upholsterer by internet search, ask your local Merc dealership who they use as they subcontract this type of work out.

Only just seen this, there is a place on Rutland Road Sheffield. It's called Claytons, it's on the Right hand side going up the hill just past the old Stanley works factory.

Forget Claytons they have finished trading. There is another place. I need my drivers seat repairing, I have been quoted £70 + the dreaded vat. It's booked in for Wednesday 2nd. Sep. If I get it in for 9 pm. they can get it done same day. They seem a competent gang. Will let you know how good they are when it's done. The link will take you there.

Have same problem. Is it not time MB start using quality materials, MBtex was almost indestructible.

Just got my car back from having the seat repaired, they have done a fantastic job it looks like a brand new seat, they have replaced the Shite imitation leather with the genuine article. But they had to remove the seat to do it, unfortunately the air bag warning light is on and their scanner has gone tit's up. So is it possible to reset the Airbag warning light, or must I have it done via a MB workshop. Thanks in advance.
